Detention Ministry is a ministry to the inmates of the Humboldt County Correctional Facility in Eureka. There are weekly visitations into the facility that offers scripture reading, praying, spiritual direction and listening with individuals or groups.
An additional action is to facilitate an 18 hour class called "Framework for Recovery" which teaches inmates how to change behavior, thinking patterns and to empower them so that they can live a clean, sober, happy and productive life. These classes are presently scheduled once a month in the facility.
Anyone interested in more information, becoming a part of this ministry, occasionally helping in these areas or has an incarcerated friend or relative who would benefit from this ministry contact the church office.
